Qari Safiullah Samady has been the spiritual leader and guiding force of Masjid Muhajireen for over three decades, making him the longest-tenured Imam and Director in our Masjid's history. A graduate of Naderia High School, he earned his degree from Kabul University in the Faculty of Science in 1980 and thereafter served as one of the youngest professors teaching chemistry in the university's history.
In 1987, he came to America as a refugee, navigating the challenges of a new life by working in various jobs, including as a taxi driver. While balancing the demands of his work, Qari Safiullah took it upon himself to memorize the Noble Qur'an without the aid of a teacher, recognizing the need for leadership in the community. His dedication led him to deliver the first Taraweeh prayers at Masjid Muhajireen in 1993.
Since 1992, Qari Safiullah has served as the lead resident Imam and President of Masjid Muhajireen, dedicating his life to the spiritual and community development of the mosque. His unwavering commitment and tireless energy make him the heartbeat of Masjid Muhajireen, inspiring countless individuals through his leadership and compassion.
He is well-respected among all Bay Area Imams and has established deep connections with the wider community, both locally and across America. Qari Safiullah continues to serve with full energy, ensuring that Masjid Muhajireen remains a vibrant center for faith, learning, and community support for years to come.
